Equipment

  • Large Skillet
  • Whisk

Ingredients

  • ½ Cup Butter that’s one stick, for those keeping score!
  • 1 ½ Cups Heavy Whipping Cream the richer, the better!
  • 2 Teaspoons Garlic Minced (I like to use fresh, but jarred works in a pinch!)
  • ½ Teaspoon Italian Seasoning a little taste of Nonna Rosa's garden!
  • ½ Teaspoon Salt
  • ¼ Teaspoon Pepper freshly ground is always best!
  • 2 Cups Freshly Grated Parmesan Cheese and when I say freshly grated, I mean it! Pre-shredded just doesn't melt the same.

Instructions

  • Add the butter and heavy cream to a large skillet. Simmer over low heat for about 2 minutes. You want it nice and warm, not boiling!
  • Whisk in the minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Keep whisking for about a minute, until everything is nicely combined. The aroma alone will make your kitchen smell like heaven on a rainy day.
  • Whisk in the freshly grated Parmesan cheese, a little at a time, until it's completely melted and the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  • Serve immediately over your favorite pasta.

Notes

This Alfredo Sauce is best served hot and fresh. Consider adding a tiny pinch of nutmeg or a little lemon zest to boost the flavor.
